Egan, Desmond

(1936- )
   Irish poet born in Athlone, County Westmeath, he founded the Goldsmith Press in 1972 and edited the literary magazine Era. He has been awarded the U.S. National Poetry award for his Collected Poems (1983). He lives in County Kildare. Many of his poems are translations from Dutch poets.
